In 1998 Cash was sent via Taffazal Gafoor to be used for a scholarship fund for students of the Multilateral School. The program never materialized so these funds were deposited in the Republic Bank Of Guyana, account# 587-434-2.
On June 10th, 2008, The head teacher Ms. Mohinie Ramlakan requested permission to use that fund for the construction of a new two hundred feet concrete and chain link fence on the eastern side of the complex, which is the main entrance to the school.
( Click here to see request letter and account balance from Ms. Mohinie Ramlakan).
The organization was dormant for about four years.

On April 18th, 2006, the Orgainzation once again reached out to the needs of the School. A request to send fund to finance the cost to take teachers from Georgetown to the school to tutor students for the CXC Exams. These teachers were been paid plus boarding and lodgeing. The students and Multi. achieved success at examinations both nationally and regionally.
The present Head Teacher, Ms Mohinie Ramlakan is aware of this venture by ARHSAA. A total of $2,400.00 were sent to aide this project.

In 2008 the organization sent three trophies to the three top graduation students.(see receipt received)

The Anna Regina High School Alumni Association Of America will continue to assist with various projects within the School as long as projects are in the educational interest of the students. As stated in the by-laws of the organization,
w
e reunite members for the promotion of their social, cultural and educational interests. The organization reunite people at its annual Fundraising Dinner and Dance and after expenses from such events, the remainder would be allocated to various projects in the school. The ARSAAA is not a Financial Instituation, thus, it does not provide financial services. Founded on the concept of bringing old students, teachers, staffs and friends together at various events, the organization has done extremely well in that respect. We appreciate the interest and support the people have shown over the years and look forward for their continued support. Once again, the aim is to unite the people in our community and beyond so that we could reminisce and highlights our achievements over the years and at the same time support each other to make our stay in this part of the world an enjoyable, meaningful and unforgetable one.
Respect to all.

Reply to Mohinie's Letter

The Anna Regina High School Alumni Association of America (ARHSAAA)

is responding to a letter dated March 3, 2010 written by Mohini Ramlakan,

(hereinafter referred to as "her letter") head teacher of Anna Regina Multilateral

Secondary School.

Ms. Ramlakan never contacted this Association or any of its executive

members to seek clarification of the allegation that the name of the school was

used by this Association over and over to accumulate funds.

This Association was not formed to seek funds on behalf of the school and

never sought funds in the name of or on behalf of the school.

Ms. Ramlakan should have confined her statements to the period during

which she was headmistress with a factual representation of the matter under

consideration. Her assertions that "I wish to emphasize that the Anna Regina

Secondary School has never received anything in cash or kind (apart from US

$100.00 which we received one year after graduation to pay for the trophies)

from the New York Chapter of its Alumni," is both inaccurate and misleading.

The funds of G $500,000.00 she accessed in Guyana were funds this

Association gave Mr. Gafoor to take to the Old Students Association in Guyana

to establish a scholarship fund. The money was not the property of the Old

Students Association in Guyana. Ms. Ramlakan was not intimately involved with

these activities but knew that these funds belonged to this Association because

she wrote to this Association on June 10, 2006 and sought permission from this

Association to use these funds to enhance and complement the fence, gate,

Page 1

arch, guard hut and revetment project. A copy of the letter from Ms. Ramlakan to

this Association seeking permission to use these funds is attached. Yet in her

letter, Ms. Ramlakan disingenuously stated that half of these funds belonged to

the Old Student Association of Guyana. These funds were the property of

ARHSAAA. We are not a chapter of the Old Students Association of Guyana.

We are an independent organization. We entrusted the funds to that

organization because they were on the ground in Guyana. The Old Students

Association held that money in trust for us for the specific purpose of establishing

a scholarship.

In her letter, Ms. Ramlakan admitted using these funds to do foundation

work for the gate, repairs and rewiring of the guard hut, revetment of the trench

and two hundred and twenty five feet of concrete and galvanized fence, yet

stated that this organization never gave the school any cash.

It should be noted that Ms. Ramlakan spent US $5,000.00 of this

Association's money but never accounted to us with supporting vouchers, bills,

receipts or checks how she spent this money.

In 2008, this Association donated a total of US$2,400.00 to provide

travelling and boarding expenses for teachers from Georgetown to teach maths,

chemistry and physics to students of the school who were writing the CXC

examination that year. Teachers were unavailable from the Essequibo area and

hence the critical need for this special arrangement. This special fund was

presented to the school and administered by Mr. Ivan Narain, the then President

of the Old Students Association and Mr. Parmeshwar Singh the then

Page 2

headmaster. Ivan Narain, President of the Old Students Association and

Parmeshwar Lall, headmaster, are fully aware and were involved in

administering the funds. Even though she had knowledge of these funds she

inaccurately stated that this Association never gave the school any cash.

Prior to Ms. Ramlakan assuming office as headmistress, this Association

gave the school among other things, books, computers, 6 typewriters, Gestetner

duplication machine, public address system, VCR, tape recorder, and school

supplies. This association also paid for the shipping and delivery of the items

given to the school over the years. We have also donated trophies from time to

time to the top graduating students. Ms. Etwaria Kumar, a former head teacher

is aware of all the material and financial support we provided to the school.

Our Association was dormant for a few years, from 2003 to 2007. Prior to

being dormant whenever we held our annual dinner and dance the price for a

ticket was between $10 and $20.00. After we activated the Association, the price

for a ticket was only $25.00 for dinner and dance. We have to pay for hall, food,

disc jockey, decorations, security and miscellaneous items. The bar never

belonged to us. How much profit can the Association make from $25.00 for

dinner and dance? Other alumni associations charge $50.00 and up for dinner

and dance.

Those who are on the periphery and criticize, do so without knowledge but

pure speculation. They gossip and spew their ignorance and have used Ms.

Ramlakan to foster their propensities for gossip and misinformation.

Page 3

We wish to reiterate that this Association with its limited resources has

helped the school and its students prior to and during the tenure of Ms.

Ramlakan. We have never used the name of the school to solicit funds on behalf

of the school or on behalf of the Association. We promote the Association and

the socializing of former students. Of course, Anna Regina High School is part of

our name and in holding our annual dinner and dance we use the name of our

Association to promote the event for its alumni.

The Association's main objective is to foster the social interactions of its

members, former students and teachers of the school. Profits generated from

our annual dinner and dance were used at different times to assist the school.

Those who have experience in sponsoring reunion dinner and dance know that

not every event is financially successful. On most occasions, had it not been for

the support of non-alumni the events would not have been a success.

This Association has helped the school on several occasions with its very

limited resources both before and during Ms. Ramlakan's time as headmistress.

Alumni of the school, who criticize the Association for not helping the

school, have never contacted the Association to find out what it has done for the

school. We should have learnt from our Alma Mater that you do not speak or

write about important matters without personal knowledge, unless you do

thorough research including contacting this Association.

All alumni and former teachers should visit the web site of the Anna

Regina High School Alumni Association of America at www.armsessequibo.com

hearsay to form their opinions.

Hi to all, NOW FOR THE LETTER THAT HAS BEEN CIRCULATING That I visited the school twice and promised to help on behalf of the Anna ReginaHigh School Alumni Association Of America ( ARHSAAA), is indeed correct. At that time the school was thinking of constructing an extension to a covered area. I told her that upon my return to New York I would notify the Members. The organization did not want to get involved with infrastructure but instead with educational ventures. When I called to let her know of our decision, she mentions that the project was already completed. As far as posting the "extension of the covered area" on Multi.'s web site and Facebook; that is indeed a blatant LIE. I have never see that extension and covered area. Never been posted! I humbly ask that Ms Mohinie and her informants to present the proof of such postings. Regarding the posting of the arch, new gate and fence,Yes, those pictures are on Multi.'s web site. They are there to show the enchancement of the the 200 feet of fence that Ms. Mohinie indicated the old student's money was used for. Click here to see request. Please visit the web site to verify that it says that two hundred feet of concrete and chain link fences are joint ventures. Ms. Mohinieand I discussed this project and she indicated that she would use  the money in the old student's account. However, I did ask her to fax a letter to the organization informing it of such acting which she subsequently did. (See letter on web site) Please note that the letter did indicate that the money would be used for the fence and enhancement and complement of the steel gate, arch and lighted sign. However, the statement on the website does not make mention of gate, arch, and lighted sign as the letter indicated. That money used was taken to Multi by Mr. Gafoor for a scholarship fund which did not materlized so he deposited the money in ac#587-434-2 atRepublic Bank Of Guyana. Yet Ms. Mohinie said the organization did nothing to help. After hearing of the excellent performance of the students in 2008, not 2007 as Ms.Nohinie has indicated, I call to tell her of sending trophies for the top graduating students. She is the one who said that she could get them prepared in Georgetown and that they would be on time for graduation in November 2008. (see photos of recipients on web site,  http://www.armsessequibo.com/newsfrommulti.html I told her that I would be on the Essequibo Coast  in June /July in 2009 and I would give her the money for those trophies at that time. She agreed and when I went there in June/ July of 2009,1 visited the school and obtained a receipt for the trophies.( see copy of receipt on Multi.'sweb site). Please note that Ms. Mohinie said in her letter that it was in 2007 and I took one year to pay. She LIED again. See date on receipt (July 3rd, 2009) on website. Ms Mohinie needs to get her facts in order. It is true that she and I discussed the possibility of getting stoves for the HomeEconomics Dept.Ms. Mohinie and I discussed two(2) stoves, not four (4) as stated in herletter. Get your facts straight again. She told me that she wanted the large stoves and not the small regular ones. I told her that I would check with the store at Affiance to see if they have the required stove. Unfortunately, the store did not have the large ones. Two days I left for New York and spoke Ms Mohinie thereafter.I told her that I would use my money to purchase the stoves but she would have to giveme an acknowledgment that the school have received these stoves. I never asked her for a receipt 'cause she not selling me the stoves. Obviously, the store would issue a receipt for the purchase. Again her letter is erroneous.A quote from the letter, " As the Principal of this institution, I wish to emphasizethat the Anna Regina Secondary School has NEVER received any thing in cash orkind. Again Ms Mohinie is lying. In 2006 the organization paid for teachers to go toEssequibo Coast to tutor the students who were preparing for Exams. We paid the sum of US$2,400.00 for wages, boarding and lodging. The same year the students and school performed excellently. When I was there,Ms Mohinie and I discussed that project and she acknowledged our contributions to be meaningful. See documents on web site http://www.armsessequibo.com/receipts.html. Yet she said that she is not aware of any cash going to theschool. Another lie. Visit www.armsesequibo.com. for more info. The organization was founded in 1993 and in 1994 up to 2006 and 2008 the organization helped in the educational upliftment of the students.Visit www.armsessequibo.com for more of what this organization have done over the years.Once again this organization was formed with the intention of bringing old students together. That is the reason for including the word ALUMNI. This is not a financial Institution and therefore we cannot finance projects without available cash. However, when ever the organization finds that there are excess cash available, the organization will allocate areas to assist. Finally, the members of this organization are made up of very reputable people who sacrifice their time to make sure you have a grand time at the reunions.I want you to know that I have given more than enough to this organization and will not allow it to lose its glory, hence,I will continue to support the organization in every way I can. I urge that you become a member and also and continue to support.(There are going to be those fractious people who are bent on destroying good, either because of their upbringings and other negativities in their lives. Lets pray for them). Regards Indarjeet Paul 516-984-0488  Please click on link to see evidences of receipts and request from Ms. Mohinie.http://www.armsessequibo.com/arhsaaaupdates.htmlPS.
