U. S.- based alumni donates computers to Anna Regina Multilateral School

Past students of the Anna Regina Multilateral School ( formerly Anna Regina High School) at Cotton Field on the Essequibo Coast on Thursday donated 22 Dell computers to help boost the institution’s information technology programme.
The donation, which coincided with the school’s 50th anniversary celebrations, was made by the Anna Regina High School Association of America.
According to founding member of the association, Indarjeet Paul, the donation is all part of efforts to boost the teaching of information technology at the school and to provide students with the necessary facilities so that they can write the subject at CSEC level.
He said that the head teacher of the school, Lalljeet Rooplall in consultations with the group revealed that the school was in need of some computers. Paul said that the head teacher mentioned the inconvenience encountered due to inadequate computers.
He said the association immediately came on board and the project was executed.
Paul noted after a discussion with the group’s executive body it was decided that 22 computers would be dispatched to the school. He said himself, along with the treasurer of the body David Singh, located the computers which were shipped by another former student Jailall Jairam.
Paul emphasised that the organisation hopes that these computers plus the ones the school already had would help to keep the flag of excel lence for which the school is known flying high.
Giving a little background on the organisation, Paul said in 1993 a small group of alumni came together to form an organisation which would promote the social, cultural and educational interests of its members as well as provide materially for their alma mater. Paul said, for a long time prior to 1993, many persons had thought of such an organisation, but like every other group it took immense planning and the meeting of minds before such an organisation could have been formed. He said as individuals, we cannot hope to achieve what a group of people can accomplish.

Our meeting which was scheduled for April 12th,2008 at Hillside Homes Realty has been cancelled. The new date is April 19th, 2008 at 5:00 PM at the same location.

The Anna Regina High School reunion has been slated for October 11th, 2008. Venue to be announced later.
The Anna Regina High School Alumni Assoc. held a meeting on March 15Th at the Office of Hillside Homes Realty on 185-06 Hillside Ave. Jamaica. The main discussion focused on our next Reunion. The date was meticulously chosen as October 11th 2008 at a venue to be announced later.Please visit the Arms Web site frequently to avoid missing out on any of the happenings! Also, on October 11th,three new Board of Directors were elected to serve on the board.
On behalf of the other executive members, I would like to welcome these wonderful people and would like them to know that we are eagerly anticipating working with them.
For you folks out there, pleeesssseeee use the MULTI Blog to render your assistance and opinions. Ofcourse, you are part and parcel of this organization.You could become a member if you are a present student or teacher at MULTI, past students or teachers from the High Schools. Parents are also encouraged to participate since our By-Laws allow for that.

Our next ARSAA meeting will be held at the office of Hillside Homes Realty (185-06 Hillside Ave. Jamaica.) on March *15TH, at 5:00 PM.There is no specific agenda, but our discussion will focus on our next reunion and the possibility of ******having a picnic this summer.
Also,new Board members will be elected.Keep looking out for more updates.
On June8, 2007 the Anna Regina High School Alumni Association Of America held their meeting at Mr. Jairam's office in Jamaica, Queens. The primary reason for the meeting was to plan our next annual reunion dance which was tentatively set for September 22, 2007. Due to a number of unforseen circumstances, the reunion never took place.
Also,at the meeting a resolution was pass by the attending board to fill the vacant position.
